HUMAN–AI COLLABORATION AND THE FUTURE OF WORK is an open-access, peer-reviewed research paper by Mrs. Parimala Swamy, Swagoto Sanyal, Vinayaga Moorthy KS, Geetanjali Nageshkar, Mr. Sanjay Singh Negi, published in Volume 15, Issue 10 of the International Journal of Advanced Research in Science and Technology (IJARST), a UGC-approved journal (Print ISSN 2319-1783, Online ISSN 2320-1126).
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has quickly merged into the professional world, altering the way where people work more than ever before. This research paper delves into the poly-faceted dimensions of Human-AI: challenging the ways in which 'intelligent systems' are revolutionizing job positions, skills, and organizational structures all over the world. This study, using a mixed methods design with a survey of 1200 professionals from 8 different industries, secondary data from 45 published studies and a structured interview survey with 60 senior executives, leads to a holistic picture of how the partnership between Human and AI is taking shape. Insights show that 73 percent of the organizations surveyed report finding productivity increases of over 25 percent with the use of AI, while 61 percent of employees are worried about job skills becoming obsolete due to AI. It concludes by proposing five different collaboration paradigms, a Dynamic Augmentation (DAM) and a set of strategic implications for workers, organisations and policy makers. Caution defeatist tales of displacement, evidence suggests a complementarising view of AI: when co-designed with governance, training ecosystems and ethical frameworks, AI helps to complement the capabilities of humans instead.
