Abstract

Brushless DC (BLDC) motors are important part in modern industry, electric vehicles, robotics and renewable energy systems because they are very efficient, reliable and need less maintenance. The Internet of Things has changed how we control these motors by allowing us to monitor them in time control their speed remotely and predict when they need maintenance. IoT technologies help devices talk to each other and to the cloud making them more reliable and reducing maintenance costs. Over the past decade researchers have worked on combining communication, cloud computing and artificial intelligence with Brushless DC motors to make them more efficient and adaptable. This review looks at all the research on IoT-based Brushless DC motor speed control from 2010 to 2026. It talks about how communication technologies, controllers and algorithms have evolved over time. We compare communication protocols, controllers and IoT platforms and discuss current trends and challenges. The review shows that combining IoT with controllers makes BLDC motors more accurate, reliable and able to predict when they need maintenance, which is important for Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing.
